Hua Hin Chess Club 2.88

The Hua Hin Chess Club was founded in August 2014 by Mr Robert Okpu from Sweden, cooperating with The Dacha restaurant in Hua Hin and it’s chef/owner Mr Konstantin Lepekhin.
Our playing venue is on Soi 94, just after the railway line, if coming in from The Petchkasem Road.
Dacha is situated beside the Japanese sushi restaurant Sakura, just twenty yards from the 7/11, on the same side of the road.
It’s a drop-in club, and we normally play blitz, rapid and bughouse chess on five boards… though more boards are available on request. On occasion, there has been the odd backgammon or shogi (Japanese chess) game, in the club as well.

Playing time is from 4 PM on Mondays, though boards and clocks are always available all week.

Everyone is welcome! Curiously enough, we currently have no Thai players. Right now, the Hua Hin Chess Club has players from Belgium, England, France, Holland, Ireland, Norway, Russia and Sweden. Some come every Monday, and some drop in once in a while.

We are very interested in chess development in Hua Hin, and are currently cooperating with the IWICA Academy in Bangkok. With the aim of introducing chess classes for schools here. IWICA are active in Chiang Mai and Pattaya, also.
